Montana Watercolor Society

Purpose     The MTWS is a nonprofit corporation created to encourage the advancement, study, appreciation and creation of watercolor painting in Montana and the nation.
 
History        MTWS was founded in January 1983.  Over the years the quality of the shows and workshops has grown steadily, helping establish the Montana watercolor community nationally and statewide.
               
Administration      The Board of Directors is composed of elected officers, regional representatives and committee chairpersons.

Active membership is open to anyone who has paid the annual dues: $25 if paid before January 31 of each year, $30 after January 31.  An active member must be 18 years of age or older and a citizen of the United States. This membership is restricted to artists who have been accepted and exhibit in three Watermedia Exhibits.  Upon election, a signature member pays the regular dues to maintain this status.  Only the Signature Members may use MTWS after their signatures on their paintings. Payment of a lump sum of $300 entitles the life member to all privileges of memberships for his or her lifetime. The lifetime honorary membership is awarded to members who have served the Society with dedication throughout the years.  Payment of dues is waived.
