Watermedia 2025 Fall Workshop
October 3-6, 2025
Bozeman, MT
We are pleased to announce the Montana Watercolor Society’s 43rd national juried show and workshop. The 2025 Watermedia Show will be held at the Old Main Gallery in Bozeman Montana Oct.3rd-31st . The exhibit will open on Oct.4th with a reception and awards banquet following. Watercolor artist Carolyn Lord will act as juror of the show and will give a gallery talk at the opening on October 3rd. The deadline for submitting your artwork for the exhibition is June 1st.
The workshop, taught by Carolyn Lord, will run from Oct. 2nd-4th at Pilgrim Congregational UCC. And registration for the workshop opens March 1st. The workshop is titled "Plein Air Watercolor Workshop: In-Side and On-Site". We are excited to be able to have some plein air experience this year, weather permitting. Carolyn is aware that the weather in Montana in October is not always good for working outside and she has a plan for working inside if the weather doesn’t cooperate. But be prepared for on-site sections of the workshop.

When you consider entering works for this show, choose your favorite, most interesting or dynamic pieces. Maybe you’ll want to hire a professional photographer to get the very best digital image or at least use a high-quality camera or cell phone camera. If it’s your first time submitting a work, price it where you will be happy selling it. We can’t make any changes once your form has been submitted. If your painting is currently for sale, do not submit it unless you plan to offer it for sale during the entire show which will last approximately one month. Please consider entering your work even if you might not consider yourself an “artist” yet.
Please read the prospectus carefully and follow the application instructions exactly, paying close attention to all the details on the form. If you’ve submitted in the past, there is a change this year. Please send your digital images and the submission form to Kristin Triol as usual. But send the submission fee and your form to Chris Vance . And remember you can pay online using the clover app. It’s easy and fast. If you do use it, add a note in the notes field saying what you are paying for.
