Roberta J. Burruss – Artist Statement
A Signature Member of the Montana Watercolor Society

Luminous skies and mountain peaks are often at the core of my inspiration to paint, along with my fascination for the expressive medium of watercolor.

All scenic landscapes inspire me to paint, and Montana never disappoints.  I am deeply-rooted to the massive beauty we have everywhere, and find myself provided opportunities to select subject matter based in the landscape.  I frequently sketch and take photographs for reference, as I craft and design my compositions.

Watercolors require careful planning, with the goal of flowing your color across beautiful 100% rag paper, creating clean, fresh washes of color.  This style of work requires preparation in value structure and color selection, a never-ending point of study that I enjoy very much.
It is my pleasure to share my craft with you.

Paintings are framed and available for sale.  Please contact the artist for more information.
