Congrats to Lance Hunter for winning the Gold Award and Medallion for his painting titled "Flight From Eden" in the 41st Annual National Juried Show.

Iain said that this painting was a "tour de force" in texture noting the skin tones, teeth, hair, leather and feathers.
As he added during the juror's talk, "I stand by those words and could add many more and did at the gala. There’s quite a statement being made here if you look. I’d start with the shadow crossing her face (why) and her expression. Exhausted? Utterly beyond caring or has she just had enough of the labels the world is so good at putting on women? I don’t know but it’s a strikingly poignant statement in my view. I don't typically look at titles when jurying exhibitions. This one gives fairly clear insight.
